Was born in Tampa, Florida on March 8, 1969. Mr. Petruccelli has lived in the Tampa Bay area all of his life with the exception of the time period for his law studies in Lansing, Michigan.
Mr. Petruccelli graduated from the University of South Florida in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology. For three years thereafter Mr. Petruccelli worked with Barnett Banks in the Security Services Division of Risk Management. Following his lifelong ambition, he attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School receiving his Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) in 1996. During his law school experience, Mr. Petruccelli clerked for the Chief Judge of the Michigan Tax Tribunal, The Honorable Norman Shinkle.
Upon his return to the Tampa Bay area in 1996, Mr. Petruccelli joined the law firm of Fox & Grove, working in the Workers' Compensation and Employment department. He became Partner of the continuing firm Fox, Grove, Abbey, Adams, Byelick & Kiernan, L.L.P. in 2001. In December of 2005 the law firm of CHRISTOPHER L. Petruccelli, P.A. was established in Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Petruccelli believes in the importance of today's youth and maintains a Board of Director position on the Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund, Tampa Division. He served two terms as President of the Friends of 440, Tampa Division and currently serves on the Statewide Board of Directors. He is currently a youth football, wrestling and softball coach. He served as Vice President of the Pop Warner Little Scholars, Carrollwood Hurricanes Football and Cheerleading program and currently maintains a board of director position.
Mr. Petruccelli practices in the area of Workers' Compensation. He is a Board Certified Workers' Compensation Attorney. He was appointed and served on the Florida Workers' Compensation Rules Committee from 2003 to 2004 and served on the Florida Workers' Compensation Rules Advisory Committee, 2005-2009. He is a former member of the Florida Bar Workers' Compensation Executive council.
He maintains a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator status, mediating all types of civil matters including: Workers' Compensation; Medical Malpractice; Nursing Home Negligence; and General Civil litigation actions. Mr. Petruccelli is a certified instructor by the State of Florida Department of Insurance and provides numerous seminars to employers and their insurance carriers.
